lost my heart to a galway girl
Last night, most of the kids in the program headed to The Pale (pub down the road) from some live traditional Irish music. We all ordered our pint of Guinness and gathered around a makeshift band, composed of around six older men, each playing a different instrument. With a guitar, a banjo, a traditional Irish drum, and many other unnamed apparatuses, the group sang ballad after ballad. It was so much fun to listen to how the regulars in the pub joined along, sometimes even going and sitting down with them and leading them in song. We saw a few local drunks as well, but all in good Irish fun. Can't wait for next Tuesday night! I think we've found a favorite weekly pastime.
